35 imagesA rare opportunity to visit a most beautiful venue just outside Stowmarket - Columbine Hall. This place dates back to medieval times and every visit, I get lost in the energy of generations who have lived here before. They hold an annual open day, where you can walk around the gardens, enjoy tea and cake from the West Barn and browse the plant stalls. All the gardens are beautifully maintained by Kate, and I always come away with inspiration for my own garden, albeit a fraction of the size of Columbine! There is beauty, symmetry, history, wildness and peace, in every corner of Columbine. The open day is all in support of St Elizabeth Hospice and is an event well worth an annual visit.

23 imagesHaving the good fortune to overlook a beautiful and protected piece of common in the heart of Suffolk, couldn't resist the opportunity to catch the annual hay turning after the common has been cut. The size of the equipment is so much bigger than decades past, but the cycle of hay cutting, turning and then bailing doesn't change.

8 imagesWhile all projects were put on hold during the Coronavirus epidemic and travel restrictions were in place, I took to catching whatever wildlife came in or near my garden. This proud and beautiful looking gentleman pheasant has been gracing us with his presence.

23 imagesWith a very damp start to the 2019 OVO Womens Tour of Britain 2019, I captured them coming through the narrow back roads of a Suffolk village. The whole entourage that accompanies the roling roadblocks ahead of the cyclists is worth seeing as well as catching the cyclists, who cycle past in under a minute.

4 imagesOur resident Barn owl is something we never tire of watching as he regularly hunts the open common land.... however, this evening, he landed on a tree just metres away from the house and sat there taking in the view. With so much wildlife under threat, I hope he always finds a safe home here with plenty to eat.

41 imagesAs a keen cyclist, I supported two friends who were doing the famous 'Dunwich Dynamo' - an un-official cycling challenge in the middle of summer, from London Fields to Dunwich on the Suffolk coast... overnight! It's one thing to cycle over 100 miles in one stretch, but to do it overnight is something else. It's not a race, it's a personal challenge to those who want to go for it - and to see Dunwich beach at 4am full of people and bikes... asleep on the shingle, swimming in the sea, watching the sun rise, but congratulating each other on their achievement is worth getting up very early for.

11 imagesSometimes successful photographs can be as much in the planning as the taking. Saturday saw the famous 'Flying Scotsman' journeying from Norwich to Ipswich and back again, a line that travels straight through our village. Several people were out to witness the old steam train. For me the excitement is in seeing the plumes of steam ahead of seeing the engine. So timetables, places to stand and the right settings were all decided beforehand :).

51 imagesA special shoot during summer of 2014. This car can only be described as a mini beast... back seat full of engine and to be heard coming (well this one anyway!) 3 miles away! It sat well against a backdrop of army buildings and vehicles, in the fading light of a summer evening.
